[1580] Of those are protest votes

I had expected change to be a gradual process. Some have waited for decades for this and my generation is lucky enough to see this day of change to arrive so soon. In the aftermath of it all, plan for power sharing among DAP, PAS and PKR is surfacing but before anyone gets over their head, they must keep in mind that 2008 is characterized with protest votes.

The three parties must be careful to not to overestimate its influence, lest the next general election would be a nightmare. It will a mistake for any of the three parties to swing their weight indiscreetly.

I especially want to stress this to PAS. I personally voted for PAS not because I agree with the its policies rather, I did so because I wanted to reduce the power of the state. For many others, from what I heard from people on the ground in Keramat, they voted for PAS before they are unhappy with UMNO; their votes are protest votes.

It is good to keep in mind that Titiwangsa which comprises Keramat as well as Kampung Baru was an UMNO stronghold. This is the first time as far as I can recall that this area favors party other than UMNO. That exactly part of the major undercurrent of the recently concluded federal election as well as in a number of major Malaysian states.

This fact must never be overlooked.

i do agreed, but then, i think, we must look beyond the appearance. PAS is not more longer suit with ustaz’s (religious teacher) image only, but, today, as we can see, Dr Lo’lo’, who won the Titiwangsa parliamentary seat, received her medical doctor degree. Same with others, not to mention, Dr Abd Rani, Dr Hashimah, Ir Mohd Nizar, from professional background.

for kelantanese, they must have their own reason to stand still with PAS. i think we should visit kelantan, like visit Malaysia. look and feel it, than hear bad thing about it. anyhow, cost living in kelantan much more cheaper than any state.

my family do vote for DAP too in my hometown subang jaya

Indeed. PAS must bear in mind that it is its moderate leaders like Husam Musa, and its moderate agenda that made people willing to overlook the Islamic state issue in PAS’s case. Protest votes are the basis of their support. If they try to turn Kedah and/or Perak into places like Kelantan, they can expect their support to erode. They have the least seats of the opposition in Parliament, so there is little support for their agenda on a national level in any event.

PAS must be destroyed in Kelantan! I hate Allah as this demon caused PAS to win a two-thirds majority. I hope in the 13th GE, BN will retake Kelantan and ISLAM will be defeated.

All Malays are dirty people but Kelantanese are nut cases as they voted in a senile old Malay towelhead, Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat as their “menteri besar” (literally Big Minister).

PAS is a racist Malay supremacist party and a bigoted Muslim supremacist party. Its ideology is Islamic fascism, much like Adolf Hitler’s Nazism.

The comment by MENJ proves to us that Hafiz is a PAS supporter and hence and Islamic fascist.

Malays are Muslims, and Muslims are terrorists. Once a Muslim, forever, a terrorist.

You actually voted for PAS? Gee, and I thought that would happen when cows jump over the moon.

But I guess we are both more alike than you would care to admit. Because you see, even though I despised DAP a lot, I voted for them in Serdang.
