Right after work yesterday, I gave Titiwangsa Lake Garden a visit. Though the place was still in a mess with a lot of work still needed to be done as of Friday’s evening, the place was a cool place for photography. Armed with my tiny camera, I set my eyes on the Eye on Malaysia.

There were many other like-minded persons patronizing the lake garden. Some of them have big ass cameras. All I could say is that, I am envious!
So, Happy Visit Malaysia Year 2007.
But this year, Malaysia is 44 years old, not 50.

It does make a difference. Further, 100 sounds more matured to me. Why not make it 100 instead?
Rewriting history simply to glorify ourselves is wrong.
History should be preserved. Interpretation may change but the record itself cannot. If we keep insisting that Malaysia is always 6 years older than it really is, than in 5 decades, I fear the public at that time would know anyway there was a federation called Malaya between 1957-1963.

Malaysia as a polity is 44 years old, but the independent federation of states known as Malaysia is 50 years old (IMO). “Malaysia”, strictly speaking, did not exist as a polity until 1963. However, the federation that would become Malaysia had been independent since 1957.
