I must disagree. Post-colonial history suggests that it is better for constitutions and democratic institutions to enjoy popular support before transfers of power are executed – otherwise there is little guarantee of protection for dissent afterwards. Future generations may once again have to dream of “an opportunity”; libertarians don’t generally allow one-off contracts to slavery either to themselves or their descendants.

Not all forms of government are equal and it’s perfectly moral for us to support certain movements within a foreign polity over others – in the same way we support certain American presidential candidates or British party leaders. I am looking for a Tibetan party-in-embryo to support.
