[1683] Of come visit Michigan booth!

USA For Students, an education fair is on for this Saturday at Wisma MCA on Jalan Ampang. Come and visit us. In fact, do come and visit the Michigan booth. We are at Booth 19.

And I am also part of Michigan’s recruiting program (I am not sure what I am suppose to do yet; I am still unclear of how that happened too but people in the alumni association and the admission office want me to adopt a school in Malaysia; I am thinking the Malay College of course!). So, you may want to talk to me if you want to hate Ohio State for the rest of your lifetime!

Hating the Buckeyes is really an entertaining and fulfilling activity. Really. You can start practicing “I hate Buckeyes” by visiting this link and write 100 times “I hate Buckeyes” on every post written by Tim.

And damn you all Malaysian Wolverines, what have you done for your school lately?

Yeah, yeah. I am over-excited about it. But who can blame me? Just earlier this week, while in a meeting with a person tagging along with a visiting World Bank team, the person asked, “did you go to school?”

I do not what prompted that question (it is probably my supposedly youthful look — shaving does not help — which allegedly makes me looks like a teenage who is supposed to be in school) but when I said Michigan, he was shocked?

“The University of Michigan?” with wide eyes.

“Yea, Ann Arbor”.

And guess what he said after that: “Me too!”

And then it was all about Lloyd Carr and Coach Rodriguez!

Before he left, he said, “It is really good to see a fellow Wolverine, especially a Malaysian”. And this guy has never been to Malaysia. Ja, vie Woverin arr all oer ze vold!

It is like a sign with the phrase “Go Blue” all over it.

Okay, back to the usual programming involving dull subjects suitable for angry people.

[1641] Of solidarity with Raja Petra

I got this through SMS:

Salam, malam solidariti ke atas PRK mlm ini 7/5, rabu, pintu utama Penjara Sg Buloh. Jgn lupa bw lilin dan payung. Sebarkan

For the Malay-illiterate, there is a gathering to express support for Raja Petra tonight at the main entrance of the Sungai Buloh Prison. Candles and umbrellas are two items that you may want to bring along.

As a background, Raja Petra has been charged under the Sedition Act and has been arrested:
PETALING JAYA: Blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here yesterday to a charge of publishing a seditious news item on his blog, Malaysia Today.

He was charged under the Sedition Act 1948 for publishing an article Let’s send the Altantuya murderers to hell on April 25, which allegedly contained nine seditious paragraphs. Raja Petra had to be sent to jail after failing to post bail. [Raja Petra pleads not guilty to sedition. The Edge Daily. May 7 2008]

[1626] Of flags as red as the blood on their hands

The flags of tyranny shamelessly flew over the MERDEKA Square.

MERDEKA means independence.

Read Kuala Lumpur for a Free Tibet for the background story.

[1624] Of support liberty

Go to Kuala Lumpur for a Free Tibet for the latest update.

Update — I was physically harassed by volunteers from the People’s Republic of China. I was treated so because I disagreed with them. Peaceful dissent was forcefully silenced. These thugs from the PRC brought their un-free culture to Malaysia. I shall write a detailed account later when I am free. In the meantime, Kuala Lumpur for a Free Tibet has the account of the event and some photos of a friend being assaulted by these violent thugs.

[1622] Of come celebrate Earth Day with MNS

The nature guides of the Malaysian Nature Society will be celebrating the Earth Day with a morning walk at Bukit Nanas Forest Park, right in the middle of Kuala Lumpur.

If you are interested, wake up early tomorrow and meet us at 08:00 at the car park next to the Bukit Nanas Forest Park Complex on Jalan Raja Chulan.

And yes, I know that Earth Day falls on April 22, not April 20.
