{"id":656,"date":"2005-11-11T02:23:00","date_gmt":"2005-11-11T02:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maddruid.com\/wp\/?p=656"},"modified":"2006-10-08T15:39:23","modified_gmt":"2006-10-08T15:39:23","slug":"674-of-anwar-ibrahim-at-michigan-iii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maddruid.com\/?p=656","title":{"rendered":"[654] Of Anwar Ibrahim at Michigan III"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After corresponding with a person inside Malaysian students&#8217; association at Michigan, apparently, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.maddruid.com\/2005\/11\/672-of-anwar-ibrahim-at-michigan.html\">the issue<\/a> had arisen due to unfortunate misunderstanding.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/maddruid.com\/wp\/?p=652\">warning from Malaysian Student Department<\/a> (MSD) was issued way back in January 2005. Somebody re-forwarded it later &#8211; what seems to be in conjunction of Anwar Ibrahim&#8217;s lecture &#8211; to the Malaysian students&#8217; association at Michigan. Hence, neither MSD nor the Malaysian government had issued a warning directly related to the lecture.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, I had planned to write <a href=\"https:\/\/maddruid.com\/wp\/?p=655\">several letters of protest<\/a> to some quarters. With the new development however, the need to write them has evaporated.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the letter that was issued by MSD is an act of hypocrisy and it&#8217;s good to know that the person that I corresponded with feels that the letter is unjustified in any way.
