This week, the same publication publishes several angry replies and also this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>SIR \u2014 Another article mentions the problems of a \u201ddoomed attempt\u201d\u009d by the Taiwanese to join the United Nations as \u201dTaiwan\u201d\u009d rather than the \u201dRepublic of China\u201d\u009d, the name under which they lost their seat in 1971 (\u201dThe trouble with democracy\u201d\u009d, September 8th).
